IWA Annual Convention, held each year on the last weekend in October, is a special time for members to come together, reconnect, and share ideas. It’s an opportunity for thoughtful conversations about how we can make a positive impact, while also raising important funds for community projects.
This gathering allows us to reflect on the progress we’ve made, set new goals, and join hands in our shared mission to uplift the Ijaw people—whether by providing clean water, improving healthcare access, or preserving our rich cultural heritage.

The Ijaw Women of America Inc. (IWA) invites you to be part of something powerful, something historic. This October, as the countdown begins, we gather in Dallas for our 9th Annual Convention and Fundraising Gala under the theme: A Wave of Change.
We are not just celebrating our heritage, we are investing in our future. This year, we launch our most ambitious effort yet: the $10 million capital campaign to build IZONWARI. A world-class museum and cultural center that will honor Ijaw history, arts, and resilience for generations to come. Your presence, your support, your voice matters.
